Digital supplements to the Fontane Blätter

The provision of sources, documents and materials is one of the core tasks of a literary archive. In 2021, the Theodor Fontane Archive and the »Theodor Fontane Gesellschaft e.V.« founded the Digital Supplements to the Fontane Blätter, a digital publication series that appears at irregular intervals and publishes larger volumes of documents by and about Theodor Fontane and his time in accordance with Open Access. The series thus complements the traditional academic journal Fontane Blätter. The quality assurance of the Digital Supplements is carried out through peer review by the Fontane Blätter academic advisory board. The aim of the Digital Supplements to the Fontane Blätter is to promote material-based empirical research and engagement with Theodor Fontane and to keep Theodor Fontane’s cultural heritage present for creative and critical debate. Wherever possible, the Digital Supplements are therefore published as ›Freie Kulturelle Werke‹ (›Free Cultural Works‹).
